Having loved and cared for Shih Tzus for over 35 years, Amy’s journey with this charming breed began as a child and continues to this day. In 2016, Amy took her devotion a step further and began breeding Shih Tzus. Her goal was simple: to share the joy these little dogs bring into her life with others, while spending her days surrounded by the puppies she loves so dearly.

Amy’s approach to breeding is rooted in love, care, and family values. Unlike large-scale kennels, her breeding program is an extension of her home and heart. Every one of her puppies is born and raised right in the Balentine home, under Amy’s attentive care. From the moment they’re born, the puppies are a part of the family, socialized by Amy, her husband, their two sons, and an extended circle of friends and relatives who can’t resist stopping by to meet the newest additions.

The Balentine family’s story took a picturesque turn in 2014 when they moved to a peaceful 10-acre farm. This rural paradise, shared with cows, horses, chickens, two cats, and, of course, their beloved Shih Tzus, provides the perfect setting for raising happy, healthy puppies. Amy’s Shih Tzus are more than pets—they’re part of the family, enjoying a life full of cuddles, playtime, and plenty of love.

With only one to two litters per year, Amy’s breeding program is intentionally small, ensuring every puppy receives the attention and socialization they need to thrive. She breeds Shih Tzus not just to maintain their exceptional qualities but also because she truly loves animals, especially the playful and affectionate puppies that bring joy to so many lives.
